Beaunvoliant - One Sentence 2

1. Motion
Aedelia had given Peregrine a ribbon to tie her hair with once, and she had watched as her older sister gathered up her hair and bound it in a haphazard low ponytail before she left, and when Peregrine had arrived back later that afternoon her hair was windblown, the ribbon was in shreds and she had bruises on her arms and knees and a shallow cut on her shoulder, but her eyes were bright.

13. Change
Valerius noted that his older sister did not fully retain the slight air of mischievousness and the perpetually gentle expression on the face of her younger years, but he understood that war changed people, and she was not the only one.

14. Command
‘Don’t be so reckless,’ the young girl admonished, and the cat that she was bandaging offered a small mewl in reply.

16. Need
It really was the only thing that she knew she could do properly, and so she fought.

When asked to describe a sunset, Peregrine would make a comparison to fire, Valerius would comment about the time of day, and Aedelia would talk about comfort.

18. Attention

He was never one to place himself at the front of a crowd, nor was he ever one to voice his opinions so straightforwardly as to draw focus onto himself, so when Dimidium sauntered into his life, he just couldn’t understand how he put himself into that position unknowingly.

Aedelia was the only one who ever prayed.

20. Picture

21. Fool
Dimidium was an idiot, and he was beautiful and shallow and he infuriated him so much, but perhaps that said something about him as well.

30. Ghost
Peregrine was not the only one affected by their father, the illustrious yet condescending man who shaped all of their lives, and from time to time Valerius would remember the hand that taught him how to reload a gun as the same hand that slapped his sister across the face the day she arrived from battle.

31. Book
If Valerius was a book, he would be the surreal, confusing, silent novel that made you smile and made you cry and made you think at the same time, with an enigmatic, bittersweet ending that did not answer everything.

Way back then, when their family was not just three, Aedelia would play the piano while Yrazephorah sung, and occasionally, with proper convincing, Valerius would take hold of his violin and join them.
